SHAWARMA NI KULAS: Sinful but YUMMY!

Been over hearing about this for quite some time. From friends, facebook, on twitter and even from my sister. Shawarma ni Kulas is located along B.S Aquino drive, La Salle Avenue, just beside Quan restaurant and fronting the former Tacorrito. Another branch is at Veranda, Eastblock fronting Lopues East. (Bacolod people are familiar with these locations).

The facade of Shawarma ni Kulas.

Yes!!! The boys at work! they wanted a photo op! :D

Photos below are some of the funny kata "quotes" posted around the stall.

These are the food that we had at Shawarma ni Kulas. :D They are also serving sizzling dishes, shawarma wraps, buko shake which they call BUKO JADES and more! =D

The Standing Burrito

I can't barely finish the burrito, I had to take the half home. The sauce is yummey!

The Naked Burrito.

You'll never regret coming into this food stall. You go home with a happy tummy. Satisfied. But wait, upon finishing our overwhelming share of food. There's this unclaimed order of MAI BALLS. Since it was unclaimed. They served it to our table for FREE! We were already feeling full but we killed our curiosity by tasting MAI BALLS. :D

The MAI BALLS.

It's always exciting to experience and try what's new in Bacolod. Especially the food. It never fails to satisfy your tummy and makes you coming back for more.

It's always and forever will be WANDERful in BACOLOD. xoxo

Island Spoon : Food coma for Family and Friends

These days, I'm trying to cut down my food intake. You know?! Healthy Living, but in Bacolod, you just can't say NO to mouth watering food. My mom and I usually have lunch dates near her office since they only have an hour of lunch break, and we tried out this resto right about the corner of their street where their office is at. ISLAND SPOON, formerly SWEET GREENS. I am not yet familiar with their menu yet coz , but mostly they're on Filipino dishes. Like Kare-Kare, Pinakbet and etc. I am not fond of eating veggies before,  besides from the usual Chopsuey, Laswa and some of the filipino veggie dishes. I haven't tried Kare2 and I don't like Pinakbet, but this resto gives these veggies the "umami" factor. It:s tasty and has this full-flavored taste. I recommend the Veggie Kare-Kare and their Ginataang Pinakbet. IKR?! I am loving what i hated years ago! hahaha :D and the bagoong just goes with the Kare-Kare perfectly!!! :D

THE "ginataag pinakbet" YUUUM

Grilled Liempo with Atsara on the side :)

Pancit Molo for our soup :D

And my new favorite. "Veggie Kare-Kare"

These are the few among the many dishes they offer that we were able to taste last weekend, since its just me my sister , my mom and my sister's friend who were devouring these food! But take note! We added another plate of grilled liempo and another order of pancit molo.

I'm sure there's more to these food that Island Spoon has to offer. Like pasta, pizza, desserts and such. And they have this cozy ambiance. They also cater functions and small meetings with their function room and those who wants to chill on a picnic-ish setting, they have these big umbrellas with chairs at the back of the area with a garden-looking set up. I'll post some pictures next time of the location itself. PROMISE!

Well its always fun to wander around the small city of Bacolod. See how WANDERful Bacolod is! :D

MELTING POT: Once you eat you can't tweet! :p

Our first post after months and months of not keeping up with our blog. Me and my friends, are quite busy. Kate is now in SG, Tipay works at a government department and I, trying to pursue my nursing career. Well this post is actually another late post. We held a surprise party for my sister, coz it's her 18th bday last January. My friends and her friends planned to not let her know till the evening and her friends were trying to make her feel bad not having a party. We held it at Melting Pot a small restaurant beside Riverside Hospital. We mostly occupied the 2nd floor.

their own mini bar :D

the second floor can occupy approximately 50-70 persons. You can actually have it occupy for special occassions and they are also offering special packages and such.

Here are some of the food we ordered that night :D

Friend Lumpia and Crispy pata!

Chicken Inasal (BBQ)

Mixed Vegetables

And the specialty of the house: GRILLED HITO( eel), you can have it also cooked with SABAW (soup).

Another good thing about this resto is that you can ask them on how you want the food to be cooked. The Manager is definitely accommodating and gave us discount since I also celebrated my birthday there. The MENU also covers appetizers to desserts, also burgers, fries, mojos. The ambiance is cozy, good for family and friends bonding. Prices are affordable.

Visit their facebook page for inquiries and contact informations: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Melting-Pot/138702532808286

IMAY's : This is how Filipinos roll!

Filipinos' have this good palate when it comes to food. We love to eat!!! Come to think of it, just how many towns and cities who has their Fiesta and during our School days, we celebrate Linggo ng Wika which includes the Piesta sa Nayon, sort of an agape, where we bring different kinds of Filipino delicacies. If Italy is known for their tasty pasta, and New Zealand has their soft Pavlova, New York has their best Hot dogs. China is famous for their Dimsums, as well as Mexico has their chilli's and Tacos. Well Philippines has  a lot to bring! from appetizers to desserts, just like SM! We got it all for you! hahahaha :)

We are featuring another Filipino Restaurant here in Bacolod, where they are famous of their Filipino cuisine and such. YAYAYAY! IMAY's :))

It has this Filipino ambiance, cozy and comfy.Families like to dine here! They also have an airconditioned function room which can accommodate around 50 persons. You can have a private celebration there.

Their lights I think are made of Capiz Shells, also made in the Philippines.

These fishes are hanged on the ceiling of the resto, which adds to the cozy ambiance. Its like your eating along the sea.

Imay's got the affordable price and just the right servings.

Chili Garlic Shrimp, to those who are allergic of shrimps, bring antihistamine! hahaha MASARAP ANG BAWAL

The Morisquetta Rice, you can save if you are dining with a big group than to order rice per person.

Broccoli Stir fry, for those who can't live without vegetables.LOL

Sizzling Blue Marlin, they also have other fish dish. :D

Guess what's inside?? NOPE, its not buko juice!

It's Chicken Binakol , where they put the dish inside the coconut which makes it more appetizing and adds more Filipino feel to the dish.

Grilled Scallops :)

And their famous Crispy Pata! uh-oh blood pressure!

Imay's have lots to offer, not just these food. If your curious about the other dishes, visit Imay's here in Bacolod. :) Enjoy the filipino spirit. And the best way to eat is KAMAYAN! Takam-Nanam!

Tooth Fairy don't take my Sweet Tooth Away!

Appetizer, entree and dessert. What do you think is the best part of eating? No doubt, as the saying goes " save the best for last", well yeah!! It's the dessert! Nothing goes wrong if we take a bite of the sumptuous piece of bonbon. It's the sugar rush that keeps us going. A candy bar can take us miles, an ounce of malt balls can have us raving for more and how much more a slice of cake? So here's the famous Calea cakes that keep us coming back for more. Enjoy the pics! just don't lick your screens.hahahahaha
